The upper reaches of Great Langdale in mid September

Taken from the edge of Side Pike, this view demonstrates the unique beauty of the Lakeland Fells. A mountain valley, with lush green pasture, dominated by the surrounding mountains. On the valley floor a traditional Lakeland Stone farmhouse stands alone at the end of a narrow track. The sheep are still high up on the fellside, making the most of the summer grazing.
